TIG Welding

TIG welding, or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, is a welding process that uses gas shielded arc to produce coalescence of metal. The term “tungsten” was used because it is the metal used in electrodes of this kind of welding process. But the tungsten electrodes are not necessarily made from pure tungsten metal anymore and instead, those made from tungsten-invar blends are popular choices because of their low thermal conductivity.

The process was developed as a welding method that can be used for production welding in the aircraft industry and it’s now commonly used by many for home or small shops as well.
